Email Server

Fast, reliable email is a mission-critical service in the modern business environment.
OIB has a built-in email server that is compatible with Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express and other email clients (including most hand-held and mobile devices).

Choose OIB, and the purchase of a separate email server is no longer necessary.

Web Server

A web presence is essential for almost any modern business. OIB ships with a built-in webserver designed to serve your corporate website via the office internet connection.

This removes the need to have a separate contract with a hosting company.

Coporate User management

OIB has a built in module that is compatible with Microsoft Windows Domain controller. At login time, each client machine authenticates against the domain controller. This client-server architecture has many benefits including :
  • User accounts are not local to individual machines. Any staff member can use any machine
  • All users will have access to the S:\ drive for convenient access to shared files
  • The contents of “My Documents\Work” will be synchronized with the OIB server reducing the chance of accidental data loss
  • Users can be added, disabled and removed through a simple web interface or remotely by Fusion support staff
  • Domain policies can be used to enforce effective security and IP protection including
  • Prevent or limit local administrator rights to machines
  • Prevent or restrict use of removable USB storage devices
  • Set internet access rights at login time

UTM Firewall

A firewall is necessary to secure your corporate network from the outside world. OIB is designed as a perimeter appliance that sits between your Internet
Service Provider (ISP) and local network. OIB ships with a state-of-the-art Unified Threat Model (UTM) firewall that protects against
  • Spyware
  • Trojans
  • Worms
  • Web Exploits
  • Viruses
  • Spam
  • Bots
  • Policy violations
Initial firewall setup and configuration is done for you by a qualified engineer.
Updates can be made though the GUI interface or through a regular a support request.

UPnP

“Universal Plug and Play” is a network protocol supported by OIB that allows applications inside the network to configure the firewall dynamically.
Applications such as Skype, peer-to-peer file sharing systems and some network games take advantage of the UPnP protocol to maximize network performance without resorting to manual firewall configuration.

UPnP is fully supported by OIB.

Web filter

Internet access is an extremely useful resource when harnessed correctly. But internet access also introduces :
  • A medium through which valuable intellectual property can leak out of the company
  • A medium through which viruses, Trojans and worms can leak into the company
  • Time-consuming distractions for employees
  • Potential to violate the regulatory environment in which the company operates
  • Ability to visit websites that company management deem inappropriate
Large corporations spend many thousands of dollars addressing these concerns with software and hardware systems to regain control of their environment and comply with regulatory authorities.

OIB provides the similar controls for SME's at a much more affordable price-point.

Website Categories

OIB contains a database of many thousands of domain names and characterizes them by function, e.g. “News”, “Webmail”, “Internet Shopping”, “Adult”.
OIB allows the user to block (or enable) access to every domain in the category at the click of a button.

Whitelist

“Whitelist” mode will block employees from all websites except for those categories or websites listed.
Whitelist mode is often used by clients who restrict staff internet access to corporate web-banking and customer sites.

Blacklist

“Blacklist” mode will enable access to all websites except those categories or websites listed.
Blacklist mode is often used by clients to block access to personal webmail sites like Yahoo mail, Gmail, and MSN.com, all of which can be used by employees to disclose confidential information either accidentally or with malicious intent.

Application Filter

Peer-to-peer applications can bring even the speediest of internet connections down to a crawl and a rarely used for the sharing of legitimate content.
Peer to peer applications have no place on a corporate network. With OIB from Fusion Systems they can be blocked with a single mouse-click.
Instant messenger products are a great way to keep in touch with friends and family, but they demand instant attention and can often distract employees from more important tasks. Use OIB to control which staff members should be granted access.

Supported application protocols include
  • MSN Messenger (chat)
  • MSN Messenger (file transfer)
  • QQ
  • Peer-to-peer applications
    • - BitTorrent
    • - eMule
    • - KaZaa
    • - Gnutella
    • - Etc

Wi-Fi access

OIB connects directly to the physical cable provided by your internet service provider (ISP). If you do not have an ISP, Fusion Systems will work with you to determine which service plan is best suited to your business, procure the service and perform the setup work.

OIB handles all common connection types, including ADSL, PPPoE and FTTH. A Fusion Systems engineer will perform the initial setup at the time of installation.

File Sharing

All OIB users will have access to the firm-wide shared drive – mapped automatically to the S: drive at login time. All files stored on the S: drive are readable and writable by any user.

Simple, effective, no-nonsense file sharing designed to be flexible, easy and effective for SME's.

Printer Sharing

Connect one or more printers directly to OIB. Fusion will configure the printer to work with the server.
Client machines will see the network printer automatically. In most cases this will happen automatically without the need for software installation on individual PCs.
